EPS Industry Alliance

Expanded polystyrene (EPS) isn’t just foam insulation; it’s also an innovated building material that can be used in a wide variety of construction projects. EPS is the ideal choice for green building designs, offering tangible environmental advantages with long-term energy efficiency. EPS has been recognized since the 1950s as excellent insulation but new applications are using EPS to add structural integrity and energy-efficiency. Learn more about EPS-IA here.

GREENGUARD Certification Program

The GREENGUARD Certification Program

What is GREENGUARD Certification?

The GREENGUARD Gold standard achieved by Plasti-Fab EPS products includes health based criteria for additional chemicals and also requires lower total VOC emissions levels to ensure that products are acceptable for use in env ronments such as schools and healthcare facilities. In addition to limiting emissions of more than 360 VOCs and total chemical emissions, GREENGUARD Gold Certified products must also comply with requirements of the State of California's Department of Public Health "Standard Method for the Testing and Evaluation of Volatile Organic Chemical Emissions from Indoor Sources Using Environmental Chambers, Version 1.1 (2010)" (also known as California Section 01350). The certification includes PlastiSpan®, DuroSpan™, DuroFoam®, EnerSpan® and ENERGREEN® insulation, as well as the Advantage ICF System®.

The GREENGUARD Certification mark on the Insulspan SIP System gives assurance that products designed for use in indoor spaces meet strict chemical emissions limits, which contribute to the creation of healthier interiors. Achieving GREENGUARD Certification gives credence to Plasti-Fab sustainability claims, backing them with empirical scientific data from an unbiased, third-party organization.

Timber Framers Guild

The Timber Framers Guild was born in 1985 as a nonprofit, educational organization. A core group met in their houses and workshops and called a charter conference in June 1985. Some 200 enthusiastic people met in a spirit of discovery and fellowship that remains very much alive today. The Guild is dedicated to establishing training programs for dedicated timber framers, disseminating information about timber framing and timber frame building design, displaying the art of timber framing to the public, and generally serving as a center of timber framing information for the professional and general public alike.
