Business Overview

Plasti-Fab’s mission is to provide EPS Product Solutions for constructing energy-efficient buildings, floatation for marine construction, lightweight fill and compressible fill for geotechnical construction projects, and component solutions for Original Equipment Manufacturers.

Advantage ICF is a one-piece, stay-in-place, insulating concrete form made of expanded polystyrene (EPS) insulation. A series of strong plastic web connectors are permanently molded into two EPS panels to create a building block. Advantage ICFs have a patented interlocking system along the top and bottom edges. Reinforcing steel is placed on the plastic web connectors inside the block cavity which is then filled with concrete, providing a highly energy-efficient building envelope.

The Insulspan SIP (structural insulating panel) system consists of solid, one-piece, pre-cut SIP units that are ready to install as wall, floor or roof components suitable for many residential and commercial building applications. Each SIP consists of a core of molded expanded polystyrene insulation with engineered oriented strand board laminated to the top and bottom faces.

There is something warm and welcoming about a Riverbend timber frame home. Homeowners and guests marvel at the elegance and strength of the beautifully-crafted solid wood posts and beams that make up the “bones” of the home. The timbers are custom-crafted to exacting standards and connected by the kind of pegged mortise and tenon joinery that has been used for centuries. The precision craftsmanship ensures fast, trouble-free assembly.

PFB, through its wholly-owned subsidiaries, is a vertically-integrated manufacturer of proprietary insulating building products based on expanded polystyrene (EPS) technology. Our products are manufactured in eight facilities in Canada and in two facilities in Michigan, USA. We distribute our products to industrial, commercial and residential customers, and to the retail market.

Expandable polystyrene resin is manufactured at our polymer plant located in Crossfield, Alberta, for use exclusively in our downstream EPS manufacturing operations. We also source EPS resin from other suppliers to supplement our internal raw material requirements. Plasti-Fab EPS Product Solutions supply the EPS foam core material used to manufacture Insulspan SIPS (Structural Insulating Panel Systems). Riverbend Timber Framing structures are typically sold with an accompanying Insulspan SIPS enclosure package.

Plasti-Fab EPS Product Solutions offer products to various market segments including: rigid insulation board stock; insulating building systems; geotechnical engineered applications; buoyancy, and packaging and display applications. Our Advantage ICF (“Insulating Concrete Forming”) system, Insulspan SIPS (Structural Insulating Panel System), and Riverbend Timber Framing systems are leading-edge, energy-efficient building systems that are rapidly growing in popularity across North America.

Our corporate structure includes Plasti-Fab Ltd. (“Plasti-Fab”), a wholly-owned subsidiary of PFB, which is the parent company of Insulspan Corporation, Riverbend Timber Framing Corporation, and Insulspan, Incorporated.

Our primary business focus is manufacturing and selling Plasti-Fab EPS, Advantage ICF, Insulspan SIPS, and Riverbend Timber Framing brands of insulating building products that can be integrated in cost-effective and energy-efficient building structures. We are committed to providing superior quality products, excellent customer service and expert technical knowledge. A reputation for quality, service and expertise has positioned Plasti-Fab as a leading brand in the EPS industry in Canada, which includes the Advantage ICF product offering. Insulspan and Riverbend brands are leaders in the SIPS and timber framing industries, respectively, across the United States. Our revenue growth strategy is built on extending the presence of all four brands and the product lines marketed under these brands across North America.

Better Building Ideas from PFB

From its inception, PFB has been committed to the future of our planet and the effect that modern lifestyles may
be having on it.

At the core of each PFB product is Expanded Polystyrene (EPS), which is not only manufactured without emitting any ozone-depleting gases, but is simply the best answer for insulating buildings in the “green” world.

We have a strong energy conservation story to tell; one that homebuilders and building owners are becoming increasingly hungry for, both in Canada and the United States.

PFB products use technologies that consume the least amount of energy resources during their manufacturing process. Our products provide excellent cost-effective insulating qualities that reduce energy consumption, and lessen the release of harmful emissions into the atmosphere. These insulating products save building owners money by significantly reducing their operating costs for heating and cooling...

Our marketing initiatives will have two goals. One is to link the various products we produce under a single umbrella, enabling us to effectively cross-market Plasti-Fab®, Advantage ICF Systems®, Insulspan® Structural Insulating Panels (SIPS) and Riverbend® Timber Framing. The second goal is to impart a solid “green” image on each of the product lines that identifies them with PFB and the suite of programs such as LEED, Energy Star and Built Green, to which we are committed.
